Which thief at the cross would you be? The angry one or the penitent one? Hard to choose I suppose, but, then again, it depends on your personality type and what drives you. One of them refused to examine himself but rather preferred to concentrate on what has been done to him, as if he didn’t deserve it. The other looked beyond himself and took the perspective of God Himself. Perhaps he did deserve his fate, but this man, Jesus, didn’t. At that moment he found the faith needed to save his eternal soul.

We can go through life expecting everything to revolve around you or you can accept your shortcomings and realise that it was your misdeeds that brought you here and that Jesus’s arms are still open to you. Less pride, more faith!
