Peter denied his best friend and his master. Hard to believe this but, then again, we weren’t there ourselves, were we? He was even scared of a couple of servant girls, of what they may say if he confessed his friendship with Jesus to her.

When push comes to shove, how would we fare in the same situation? Even with small things. Pray that you may hold fast to your faithfulness to Jesus in the small things today and, if you fail the smallest test, pray for the courage that we are going to need when things get far more difficult in our aggressive unforgiving and accusatory society.
