Here is the central act of our remembrance of what Jesus did for us, following that Passover night. A simple act of taking bread and wine, an integral part of the Seder meal, has been overcomplicated by generations of meddling. Yet it is just … a simple act of remembrance.

The next time you take communion, however you do it, make a special effort to take it seriously (often we get jaded over acts that we have done many times) and truly remember just what Jesus did for you personally.
