MATTHEW 26:21-24, MARK 14:18-21, LUKE 22:21-23, JOHN 13: 21-26

It seemed incredible that Judas should be in denial when Jesus identified him as his betrayer, through his actions in dipping the sop. Does this mean that he didn’t realise that he was actually betraying Jesus, or was he just lying? I would certainly prefer the latter option.

Now none of us will ever betray Jesus in such a severe manner, but we could still be acting, perhaps unknowingly, to thwart his plans for our life and the life of others. It may be a good time for a self-assessment, to examine your thoughts and actions as to whether they are consistent with our calling. Always endeavour to be the ‘solution’, not ‘the problem’!
