LUKE 12:35-48

Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning. That’s what Jesus says, then and now. The master of the servant will come on a day when he does not expect him.

As I write this, some are saying that Jesus will come for his own in a couple of week’s time. Really? Oh, yawn, how many times have I heard that. Now we are called to watch, not panic. We are called to be sober watchers, not dreamers desperate for rapture away from this world. We are watching on behalf of this world, not our own personal interests. And our job is to warn the world, not set schedules. The world is getting darker by the minute. I’ve just come back from a rally against antisemitism and the pictures painted are very bleak indeed. It should inspire us to act, not count the days. What are you doing today to warn others?
