MATTHEW 21:28-32
The second son in the parable talked the talk, but it was first son who walked the walk. It was the first son that pleased God and the implication is that the ‘usual suspects’, the professional Christians who love to talk and plan and strategise, but do nothing, are frowned on … yet those on the fringes, characterised by prostitutes and tax-collectors in the Parable, please The Father the most.
All around us we see a lot of talk, talk by Christians, particularly those in the public sphere. Rather than dwelling on their shortcomings let’s make sure that we are walking the walk at all times. That way we will be pleasing The Father.
