MATTHEW 26:57,58, MARK 14:53-54, LUKE 22:54,55

No account is given of what passed before Annas. It is only mentioned in the fourth Gospel. As the disciples had all forsaken him and fled, we can understand that they had no idea of what was actually spoken there until afterwards after Peter and John ‘followed him into the Palace of the High Priest’.

For the Palace of Caiaphas, the High Priest, was the scene of Peter’s denial. Of what occurred in the Palace of Caiaphas we have two accounts. John seems to refer to a more private interview between the High Priest and Jesus but the second account of the other three writers refers to the examination of Jesus at dawn by the leading Sanhedrists, who had been hastily summoned for the purpose.
