MATTHEW 27:1,2,11-14, MARK 15:1-5, LUKE 23:1-5
On hearing Jesus not responding to the charge of being ‘King of the Jews’ Pilate saw personally no charge against him. This was his perspective. In a sense, this is the perspective of someone who had no understanding of what that charge meant to the Jewish people, the ‘blasphemy’ that it implied.
With that in mind, when dealing with Jews today, our job is to convey the truth that rather than Jesus uttering blasphemy, that he is actually their true King. It’s not easy to do this, 2,000 years of Christian antisemitism has warped the playing field, but Jews must be able to freely accept Him as their Messiah. If God puts a Jewish person in your path, treat them with love and care and, above all, pray that He will find a way to show Himself to them.
