MATTHEW 22: 41-46, MARK 12:35-40, LUKE 20:40-47

Then, without addressing anyone in particular, Jesus set before them all, what perhaps was the most familiar subject in their theology, that of the lineage of Messiah. whose Son was he? And when they replied, ‘The Son of David’ he referred them to the opening words of Psalm 110, in which David called the Messiah ‘Lord.’

And this appropriately constitutes Jesus’ farewell to the Temple, to its authorities and to Israel.
