Ep. 151: Joy

1 CORINTHIANS 15:6, LUKE 24:44-53

Jesus has gone … again. His ascension to heaven. This time we hear there was joy, not sorrow and they returned to the Temple in Jerusalem, praising God. It is interesting that they should return to a public place to do so, there was no shame or secrecy, they wanted the world to hear them. Their Master had been taken away, but he promised them that they would be ‘clothed with power from on high.’ It was their anticipation of this that gave them the joy.

Oh, that we can have the same joy. We are already clothed with power from on high, but where is our joy? Where is our joy in public places? Our joy needs to be real and it needs to be seen by others. Only then would people want what we have.
