Tevet - Shevat /January 2007

Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, "Rise up, O LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you." Whenever it came to rest, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel." (Numbers 10:35-36)

Shalom friends,

May the Holy One of Israel be exalted and blessed forever and ever. Amen and amen!

This prayer letter is written by the grace and mercy of God. My prayer is that my own sufferings will supernaturally bring hope through His promise that is ours in Lord Yeshua our Messiah, the Word of God.

Obedience to God's call

God chose me to be his intercessor for Israel. I did not ask for this calling. He chose me, and I know there are many more of you out there in this world whom He also called for His purpose. His Spirit touched your heart, and you responded to His call in obedience, not counting the cost.

I have learned that though I raised a family in Christ, the adversary can come in and cause havoc. It has nothing to do with you being a failure, but it does relate to the world in these end times. The Word does not say to spare you from trials, tribulation and persecution. In fact, if you are a true follower of the one true living God, you must expect to endure these times. You will overcome by the grace of God. He alone will give you the strength to endure.

God's answer to our prayer and the cost

How often have I told the LORD, "Break me O LORD, so you can use me like the vessel of soft clay, like the empty vessel that only you can fill. Break me O LORD, use me for your Kingdom. Amen and amen."

I have painfully come to realize, how my life as intercessor for Israel has paralleled that of Israel. Though I went through trials as an unbeliever years ago, my life as a believer and follower of my Jewish Messiah has surpassed anything I could ever imagine in the suffering of Messiah.

I want to know Messiah and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:10)

Persecution in the last days

Yeshua warned us of these days.

"Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

"A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!

"So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'

"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matthew 10:16-39)

The power of His Light

Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the LORD. (Isaiah 2:5)

Where God's Light is, darkness cannot exist. Where His Presence is, evil must flee. His Light is in us, and His Presence is upon us. Whatever our sufferings are in this life, we must recognize the power of His Presence, by His Holy Spirit in us. Satan cannot destroy us, for he cannot destroy the LORD.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. (Isaiah 60:1-3)
